Frequently asked questions

Is there a free plan?

Self-host xbook for free — forever — with Docker. xbook Cloud is $8/mo, or $5/mo if you're one of the first 200 founding members.

Can I self-host for free?

Yes! xbook is FSL-1.1-MIT licensed and open source. Self-host with Docker and get every feature — unlimited bookmarks, newsletter digest, API access — at zero cost.

What is the Founding Member deal?

The first 200 cloud subscribers get $5/mo ($48/yr) locked in forever — same features, lower price, as a thank-you for being early. Once the 200 spots fill, the price goes to $8/mo.

What is the Lifetime deal?

$149 one-time payment for lifetime cloud access. Limited to 50 spots. No recurring fees, ever.

What is the newsletter digest?

xbook sends you an email with your newly bookmarked content — organized by folder with previews. It's like a personal reading newsletter from your own saves.

How does syncing work?

xbook Cloud syncs your X bookmarks automatically on a weekly schedule — no setup required. Self-hosted users can trigger syncs via the CLI or API on any schedule.

Can I export my data?

Yes. The API gives you full access to all your data. Self-hosted users can also access the SQLite database directly.

Is my data secure?

Cloud data is stored in Postgres with per-user isolation. We never store your X password — only encrypted OAuth tokens. Self-hosted users control their own data entirely.
